Reviewed alcohol-related activities by prime-time television characters over a five-year period. Analysis showed alcohol was the preferred beverage used by characters, especially in recent years. All kinds of characters were seen drinking except youth. However, consequences of alcohol abuse and response of others were not always shown. (Author/JAC)

Military offenders' (N=69) attitudes towards drugs, knowledge about drugs, and reported drug abuse histories were analyzed. Results indicated a significantly positive relationship between all three variables. Military offenders who had drug use histories also had more liberal attitudes toward drug use and a greater degree of knowledge about drugs.…

A group of 144 high school dropouts were surveyed in an effort to dtudy the prevalence and correlates of their drug use as compared to that of 2,277 high school students. The results were reported according to grade level, sex, and ethnicity. (Author)
