Students in a New York City inner city junior high school were surveyed in 1976. Findings imply that substance abuse prevention programs will be enhanced by a focus on life-style commitment, rather than on such things as drug use per se. (Author)

A procedure for evaluating concerns of drug users was applied with drug users entering an outpatient treatment program. Abusers had major concerns about areas which might not be predicted on the basis of their actual situation. The utility of such information for treatment and program planning is discussed. (Author)
