This paper presents a large scale study of online MLIS students (n = 910), who completed at least one online course and were enrolled in 36 of the 58 ALA-accredited MLIS programs in Canada and the United States. A survey of master's students from 54 accredited library schools reveals that location and flexible scheduling were the prevailing reasons for the selection of a library program. Faculty, quality of programs, financial support, and costs were shown to be less important overall. (nine references) (EA)
