Stoel, Gerhard L.; van Drie, Jannet P.; van Boxtel, Carla A. M. – Journal of Educational Psychology, 2017
This article reports an experimental study on the effects of explicit teaching on 11th grade students' ability to reason causally in history. Namkung, Jessica M.; Fuchs, Lynn S. – Journal of Educational Psychology, 2016
The purpose of this study was to examine the cognitive predictors of calculations and number line estimation with whole numbers and fractions. Wainer, Howard; Kaye, Kenneth – Journal of Educational Psychology, 1974
Using a model for individual differences in multidimensional scaling, 16 concepts dealing with developmental psychology were scaled before and after a course. The criterion measure used was the instructor's position in the subject space. Implications of this methodology for educational evaluation are discussed. (Author/SE)

Kaye, Daniel B.; And Others – Journal of Educational Psychology, 1979
Results of two studies using the Esper paradigm to determine development of rule application and discovery are reported. Zook, Kevin B.; Maier, Jean M. – Journal of Educational Psychology, 1994
In 2 experiments, 261 middle school students processed an analogy and responded to factual and inferential target-domain questions in a study of variables that contribute to the formation of analogical misconceptions. Results of both experiments support a six-variable model of analogical misconception formation. (SLD)

Park, Ok-Choon; Tennyson, Robert D. – Journal of Educational Psychology, 1980
Computer-based adaptive instructional strategies for concept learning were investigated. Selection of the number of examples according to on-task information was more efficient than pretask or pretask plus on-task information. A response-sensitive strategy was preferable to a response-insensitive strategy to determine the presentation order of…
