Holmgren, J. E.; And Others – Journal of Educational Technology Systems, 1979
Three sets of audiovisual lessons were presented on either a prototype videodisc player or with film/audiocassette. Both groups of trained soldiers performed significantly better than a control group. On two of the lessons, no difference was found between presentation modes--the third favored film/audiocassette. This field study examined learning effects attributable to instructional design characteristics when eighth-grade science students used a print encyclopedia or a videotex version of the encyclopedia to write term papers. Results suggest that specific effects of instructional design characteristics of a delivery system are of a limited nature. (MBR)
