Goldstein, Beth L. – Journal of Ethnic Studies, 1988
This study examined the dynamics of schooling and ethnicity among Hmong girls in American high schools. Their community gave them secure identities and the extended family supported them, but they were treated as minorities by Americans. Their academic accomplishments did not change the power relations of society. (VM)
