Children from 4 to 7 years of age were tested in a structured perceptual task in which haptic manipulation was available, but not required. The extent of haptic involvement with the stimulus material and its effect on performance in a perceptual recognition task was then determined. (Author/CB)

Young children drew two opaque objects placed one behind the other. Over two-thirds of the children drew the objects separately in horizontal or vertical relationships. When drawing an object in a glass beaker, half of the children depicted the object vertically or horizontally separate from the beaker. (Author/DB)

Investigates developmental changes in the accuracy of aimed movements made to an illuminated target lamp by children between the ages of 1.5 and 8 years. Shows accuracy decreased with decreasing availability of visual information and improved with age under all conditions. (HOD)
