Mastekaasa, Arne – Journal of Family Issues, 1994
Used combined questionnaire and register data on 39,000 Norwegian men and women to show that psychological well-being was strong predictor of subsequent marital dissolution over 2- to 4-year period. The long-term consequences for children of marital violence were investigated using data from parents and their adult offspring over time. Marital violence was distinguished from other marital conflict. Outcome effects on young adults' lives of these and other predictor variables were investigated.
