Drawing on census data from 1975 to 1994, reports on the leaving-home behavior of youth in France. Findings indicate that French youth tend to leave the parental home increasingly later, mainly due to unemployment. But the impact of unemployment varied according to the young person's sex and residential situation. (RJM)
