This paper presents evidence of the demand for education. The study uses the translog-LES (Linear Expenditure System) indirect utility function to analyze the demand within a multicommunity framework for annual U.S. expenditures for 1958-1982. Taste change has moved toward the consumption of education, and the consumer has suffered because of increases in prices. (Author/JOW)
