Results revealed low degree of agreement between parents and children in reports of parenting behaviors. Analysis of responses of 482 sixth graders, classified as either peer oriented or adult oriented, reveals that while the peer-oriented children generally conform to a socially undesirable peer subculture, they are unsatisfied and anxious about it. Kenkel, William F. – Journal of Marriage and the Family, 1985
Analyzed data from low-income students (480 males, 466 females) to explore differences between those who want to have children and those who don't. Found high school women who don't want children had higher occupational and educational aspirations. The reverse was true for males who didn't want children. (BH)
