Examined fourth through eighth graders' lifestyle attitudes and sociometric status in a two-year panel study. Found that approval of healthy and deviant mature lifestyle attitudes increased linearly with grade. Boys approved of activities more than girls did, but by eighth grade, gender differences had almost disappeared. More mature attitudes were associated with other-sex popularity but not with same-sex popularity. (KDFB)
