The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there are associations between college students' participation in cocurricular activities and their development of leadership and multicultural competence. We analyzed survey data from seven large, public research universities in 2015. The results suggest administrative and social cocurriculars were positively associated with students' leadership development, while a broader mix (i.e., administrative, social, and creative) of cocurriculars were positively associated with students' multicultural competence.
