Liu, Yongmei; Ferris, Gerald R.; Zinko, Robert; Perrewe, Pamela L.; Weitz, Bart; Xu, Jun – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 2007
We developed a four-study research plan to examine the dispositional antecedents of political skill and its job performance consequences, and also to incorporate the mediating role of reputation, drawing upon a recent theoretical model of political skill in organizations. Ritchie, Richard J.; Boehm, Virginia R. – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1977

Hesketh, Beryl; And Others – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1990
Tested Gottfredson's (1981) compromise model by comparing the relative importance of sex-type, prestige, and interests under career preference and compromise choice situations using a policy-capturing paradigm with 37 participants. Found no support for Gottfredson's compromise model. (Author/ABL)

Thorndike, Robert L. – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1986
Analyzed several data sets to compare the prediction possible from a uniform general factor score with that produced by a separately tailored set of regression weights when those weights are applied to a new cross-validation sample. Found that with smaller samples, the uniform general factor score was clearly superior. (Author/ABB)

Hartman, Bruce W.; Hartman, Paul T. – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1982
Studied the concurrent and predictive validity of the Career Decision Scale administered to 206 seniors. Rated students' descriptions of their career decisions. A year later, students were surveyed by telephone about career decisions. Determined factor scores taken during the senior year were good predictors of student decisions. (Author/RC)

Noeth, Richard J. – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1983
Described the prediction of actual occupation from expressed vocational choice when enhanced by measures of career development. Subjects were junior class members of a national study who were working three years later (N=1,994). The Assessment of Career Development (ACD) scales did not contribute to the predictive accuracy of vocational choice.…

Cairo, Peter C. – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1982
Examines the predictive accuracy of expressed versus measured interests over a 21-year period, using as a criterion occupational membership at age 36. Found expressed interests slightly better predictors. Supplementary analyses revealed no relationship between the extent to which interests corresponded to age 36 occupations and job satisfaction.…
