The relationship between attitudes about casual sex and casual sex behavior was investigated for 137 male and 187 female active heterosexuals aged 17 to 19. Behavior was more heavily influenced by social-psychological motivations than by disease-based variables, and the relationship between attitudes and behavior was stronger for females. (SLD)

The help-seeking behavior of 715 Australian late adolescents with personal problems was assessed 5 times over 12 months. The help-seeking behavior of these adolescents did not appear to alleviate their psychological distress effectively. Focusing on problems by talking about them may have intensified rather than relieved their problems. (SLD)

To assess the predictive importance of recklessness in suicidality, 155 college students completed measures of experience, depression, and suicide ideation. Results indicated that recklessness was not a component of suicidality among these nonclinical older adolescents, although it might be in younger adolescents and clinical samples. (SLD)
