De Ayala, R. J.; Hertzog, Melody A. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1991
Multidimensional scaling (MDS) and exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were compared in the assessment of the dimensionality of data sets, using sets generated to be one-dimensional or two-dimensional and differing in degree of interdimensional correlation and number of items defining a dimension. Marsh, Herbert W.; Richards, Gary E. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1987
The factorial structure of the Rotter Internal-External (IE) scale was examined. While there was strong evidence against the unidimensionality of the Rotter scale, the findings suggested that the first-order factors do define a single higher-order construct that may represent the generalized IE construct.
