This 140-page written project shares the detail of a community engagement project in partnership with Madison Japanese Language School. It includes the project development process, evolution of activities using music, and an autoethnographic reflection. As a musician in an ever-changing, more inclusive society, I argue that community-based projects be a central component of musician's training in colleges and universities moving forward.
