Responses of alumni enrolled in a distance and an on-campus program at a traditional land-grant university to a survey evaluating their academic experiences were compared. Results demonstrated that both groups of alumni were very satisfied with their education. Both groups responded similarly to questions about the university's contribution to their growth in a number of outcome areas. Distance alumni chose the distance program for personal and work-related reasons. Both groups of alumni plan to obtain additional education, and both were involved in similar types of volunteer service. Distance alumni indicated their undergraduate degrees had significant value for them both personally and professionally. (Contains 7 tables and 1 note.)
