A study of the increase in numbers of administrative personnel at four regional universities in Kentucky during an 11-year period is described. The growth in number of administrators and administrative staff exceeded that of other indicators of university growth such as number of faculty, students, and graduates. (Author/MLW)

Predictors of job change for academic staff administrators are examined. Analyses of questionnaire data from administrators who had been employed from 1971 through 1978 indicated that predictors of job mobility differ for diverse kinds of moves with two exceptions--age and gender. (Author/MLW)

Two explanations of congruency of ideal (intent) and actual (action/behavior) work of faculty are examined--reward expectations and referent others. Based on interviews, a survey, and institutional data, it was found that referent others' goals have a greater influence than reward expectations on the congruency of work. (Author/MLW)
