Apparala, Malathi L.; Reifman, Alan; Munsch, Joyce
Sex Roles: A Journal of Research, v48 n5-6 p189-203 Mar 2003
Explored attitudes toward the division of fathers' and mothers' participation in childcare/household tasks using data from the Euro-barometer surveys that involved over 10,000 respondents from 13 European countries. Respondents were most likely to hold egalitarian views of household work and childcare when they were younger, female, and politically liberal. Countries' United Nations ratings on women's empowerment, Gross National Product, and cultural individualism related to egalitarian attitudes. (SM)
