A study was conducted to determine the relationship between the amount of time children spend watching television and their knowledge of adult sex stereotypes. In a sample of 4,035 men and women from a 1963 high school cohort, sex differences in role patterning were found in the timing, ordering, and continuity of educational, occupational, marital, and procreational roles.
