This study investigated the effect of two independent variables on the sharing behavior of children. The results indicated that both observing a model share and longer ownership of the item facilitated sharing in these children, although the latter was originally hypothesized to retard sharing. This study shows a change in ethnocentrism could be accomplished through use of behavior modification techniques. The hypotheses of this study were that role-taking training would increase (1) role-taking skills and (2) relative amount of peer interaction as compared with adult interaction.
