The results of a survey of sample business libraries show only a small precentage using proof slips for selection. Advantages and disadvantages in the use of proof slips, problems with traditional selection media, the use of non-library specialists, and foreign materials in U.S. business libraries are also analyzed. Binding specifications are maintained on embossed plastic plates, one plate for each title bound. All binding instructions are imprinted from the plate to a set of forms.
