A 21st Century Imperative: Integrating Intercultural Competence in Tuning
Deardorff, Darla K.
Tuning Journal for Higher Education, v3 n1 p137-147 Nov 2015
Given the increasing demand for interculturally competent graduates and employees, it is incumbent upon the Tuning community to incorporate intercultural competence into Tuning Frameworks. With the growing diversity in the world today, beyond national diversity, intercultural competence cuts across disciplines, subjects, and contexts. This essay highlights the first research-based definition and framework of intercultural competence which can be translated into any subject and context and makes the case for why intercultural competence must be embedded into Tuning Frameworks around the world.
