Implementation of a developmental transcript potentially involves a number of complex issues and a variety of persons. An extensive survey of students and a sampling of parental responses to key issues indicate that there is strong support for the basic concept but differing viewpoints on implementation procedures. Placement interviewers rated students' placement recommendations with similar content for positiveness. The information presented was in the form of developmental transcripts, or causal attribution statements not related to student information. Both forms led to greater perceived positiveness of students by placement interviewers. (Author/JAC)

The academic transcript is undergoing changes that reflect new learning and assessment procedures. A student development transcript could serve a useful purpose depending on its format. Although there are issues which need resolving, this may be an opportune time to explore the potential for a student development transcript. (Author)
