Based on a sample of 145 graduate students in social work, results indicated that the Graduate Record Examination, as a primary basis for admission, is not a valid predictor of future performance in schools of social work. Sisson, Harriet E.; Dizney, Henry F. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1980
A regression equation incorporating grade point average (GPA), calculus grade, and grades in two sections of the Pharmacy College Admission Test was significantly more useful than using GPA alone. Halpin, Gerald; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1983
Although arbitrary, whenever multiple judgmental standard-setting procedures are utilized by different groups concurrently, stability across raters can be achieved and decisions can be made in a relatively judicious manner. Greater stability across methods (Ebel, Nedelsky, Angoff) may be effected by slightly modifying the Ebel approach. (Author/PN)
