Thirty-two terminators and 28 continuers in personal counseling were compared on three measures derived from precounseling Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) data. Adolescents (N=36) categorized as nonobese, obese in a weight control program, and obese who rejected a weight control program were given opportunities to snack and were administered three personality tests. Temperament and perceived family and friend support were significantly related to depressive symptoms and delinquent activity in 975 adolescents (high school sophomores and juniors) in western New York.
