The Hand Test and the maladaptive behavior scale of the Adaptive Behavior Scale (ABS) were administered to 78 institutionalized mentally retarded. Significant correlations were found between two purported Hand Test indicators of destructive acting-out behavior and observed violent behavior. (MH)
