McReynolds, Leija V. – Analysis and Intervention in Developmental Disabilities, 1984
Within a multiple baseline across behaviors design, four hearing impaired children (six to 13 years old) who initially omitted final consonants in words were taught to produce final /k/ and /v/ in a contrast training procedure. Results showed that Ss generalized both final target sounds to a high degree in spontaneous and non-spontaneous contexts.…

McReynolds, Leija V.; Huston, Kay – Journal of Speech and Hearing Disorders, 1971
Thirteen distinctive features of English phonology were used in studying misarticulating children's feature systems in comparison to the English system, and for a traditional articulation evaluation of phoneme articulation. Results showed children's feature errors consistent across phonemes containing the feature, and misarticulations only…

McReynolds, Leija V.; Bennett, Shannon – Journal of Speech and Hearing Disorders, 1972
Three children with severe articulation problems were trained in the production of features lacking in their repertoires to determine the extent of generalization of trained features across phonemes. (GW)

McReynolds, Leija V.; Jetzke, Elaine – Journal of Speech and Hearing Disorders, 1986
A study explored the effect of training in pairs of voiced or voiceless sounds on 6- to 13-year-old prelingually deaf (N=8) children's generalization to cognates. Results showed that six of the eight children generalized both the voiced and unvoiced target sounds to 50 percent or more of the target sound probe items. (Author/CB)

Elbert, Mary; McReynolds, Leija V. – Journal of Speech and Hearing Disorders, 1975
Twelve grade school children who were unable to imitate correctly the three /r/ allophones in 40 stimulus items during baseline participated in a study designed to determine if training on any one specific /r/ allophone would result in transfer to other /r/ allophones without specific training.
