This document, seventh in a series of 11 subvolumes of a handbook prepared to provide training for educational research and development personnel in the development of instructional materials, deals with the task of formulating instructional strategies. The document is organized according to the four sequential steps involved in performing the task. The four steps involve: (a) designing practice of each criterion behavior; (b) designing preparatory practice progressions; (c) planning behavior control; and (d) selecting media appropriate to mode requirements of criterion and preparatory practice.
