Results of the Bem Sex Role Inventory administered to over 300 female and male college athletic directors (ADs) showed that (1) the majority were either androgynous or masculine in sex-role orientation, and (2) ADs were more androgynous than business executives and possess a greater degree of behavioral flexibility.
