In line with a recent study by Kemp, this study examined the possibility that closed-mindedness as measured by the Rokeach Dogmatism Scale may interfere with attitude-change findings in counselor education. Although the results were not statistically significant, the trends in the data conformed closely to those of Kemp. (Author)

The role of the therapist was varied in a weight reduction program. When meetings with the therapist were "faded out" over the duration of the 10-week treatment period, subjects lost significantly more weight compared to subjects who met with the therapist on a regular basis. (Author)

A multivariate analysis of postanxiety measures showed no differences between the treatment groups but in comparison to the no-treatment control group both treatments were associated with significant anxiety reduction on four measures related to speech disturbance, extraneous body movement, and self-reported anxiety.
