Adams, Gerald R. – Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1974
This study of the function of reinforcement in imitation training indicates that reinforcement is involved in imitative learning as well as performance. (DP)
Descriptors: Behavior Development, Imitation, Learning Processes, Observational Learning

Heilbrun, Alfred B., Jr. – Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1974
This study investigated the effects of male college students' social histories upon their selective attention to history-relevant stimuli. (DP)
Descriptors: Attention, Behavior Development, College Students, Males

Wilder, C. N.; Baken, R. J. – Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1978
Reports a semilongitudinal study which measured the respiratory activity during crying of 10 normal infants aged two days to eight months. (BD/BR)
Descriptors: Behavior Development, Developmental Stages, Infant Behavior, Longitudinal Studies

MacDonald, Randolph R. – Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1973
Analyzed parataxic distortion (low self esteem and attribution of low self-acceptance to the average person), by looking for key qualities of parenting associated with this type of distorted perception. (DP)
Descriptors: Behavior Development, Factor Analysis, Parent Influence, Perception

Van Den Daele, Leland D. – Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1974
The natal influences, and the inter- and intrapair intellectual differences of 16 sets of identical twins were evaluated in a retrospective study. (DP)
Descriptors: Behavior Development, Correlation, Individual Differences, Intelligence

Heilbrun, Alfred B., Jr. – Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1973
Investigated adolescent males' recognition of evaluative words spoken near threshold by male and female voices. Closed-style subjects (theoretically characterized by social withdrawal and perceptual blocking) recognized fewer female-spoken (relative to male-spoken) words; this finding is consistent with adaptive-style theory. (DP)
Descriptors: Adolescents, Auditory Perception, Behavior Development, Males

Roberts, Mark; And Others – Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1978
Reports on a strategy of continuous measurement of the frequency of the same infant behavior over time, which was applied to measuring infant development in the prone position, namely, chin lifting, chest lifting, and a creeping response. (BD/BR)
Descriptors: Behavior Development, Infant Behavior, Infants, Physical Development

Delhees, Karl H.; And Others – Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1971
Descriptors: Behavior Development, Behavior Patterns, Family Attitudes, Family Relationship
Sex Differences in the Activity Level of Preschool Children as a Possible Precursor of Hyperactivity

Goggin, James E. – Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1975
The activity level of preschool boys relative to preschool girls was observed to find whether a sex-linked pattern of hyperactivity is observable in the general population. Boys were found to be more active than girls, with patterns similar to those included in definitions of hyperactivity. (GO)
Descriptors: Behavior Development, Behavior Problems, Classroom Observation Techniques, Hyperactivity

Meyer, W. J.; Shane, June – Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1973
A comparison of the question-asking behavior among two groups of children separated by a span of some 33 years (from time of collection) indicates that the underlying developmental processes involved in the question-asking behavior of children has changed very little. (DP)
Descriptors: Behavior Development, Elementary School Students, High School Students, Junior High School Students

Durrett, Mary Ellen; Kim, Chungsoon C. – Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1973
The study revealed the Mexican-American children were less mature. Factor structures for both groups are analyzed. (ST)
Descriptors: Behavior Development, Cross Cultural Studies, Factor Analysis, Factor Structure
