Martinez-Roig, Antonio; And Others – Child Abuse and Neglect: The International Journal, 1983
A retrospective investigation of 97 psychologically maltreated children showed a clear relationship between clinical symptoms and intensity of the abuse. Slade, Bonnie B.; And Others – Child Abuse and Neglect: The International Journal, 1984
Compared to 16 matched nonabused peers, 16 abused Ss (8-12 years old) showed no less persistence in working for rewards, made equivalent use of contingency information to maintain persistence, and assumed equivalent responsibility for success. However, they took less responsibility for failure. (CL)

Gonzalez, Lauren Shapiro; And Others – Child Abuse and Neglect: The International Journal, 1993
This study of 63 children who reported sexual and ritualistic abuse in preschool settings found that recantation occurred in 17 cases, and 15 children who recanted redisclosed abuse after the initial recantation. This study compared parental assessments of problem behaviors among 81 alleged sexual abuse victims and 90 nonabused comparison subjects. (Author/JDD)
