Erchak, Gerald M. – Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, 1976
Among the findings are that girls become more self-reliant and responsible than boys at an earlier age and that the non-social behavior of boys reflects their greater free time and lack of responsibilities. The responses of adults are inconclusive, but consistent with findings on childrens behavior. (Author/AM)

Power, Thomas G.; Chapieski, M. Lynn – Developmental Psychology, 1986
Examines the childrearing correlates of impulse control in 18 mothers and their 14-month-old toddlers. Power, Thomas G.; Parke, Ross D. – International Journal of Behavioral Development, 1986

Bell, Richard Q.; Chapman, Michael – Developmental Psychology, 1986

(HOD)

West, D. J. – 1969
The first phase of an 8-year longitudinal study of the onset and development of delinquency and behavior problems recruited 400 eight- and nine-year-old boys in a densely populated working class urban district.
