A random sample of 195 undergraduates revealed distinct sex differences in drinking type, quantity, variability and frequency of alcoholic consumption. Collegiate drinking typifies sex-role appropriate behavior. Alcohol education programs are needed to offset sex-role drinking norms. (Author)
