Wang, Chuang; Algozzine, Bob – Journal of Educational Research, 2011
Considerable research has investigated the link between academic achievement and social behavior. The authors set the context for their work by reviewing some of the research that has been done. To address similarities and limitations in previous research, they included concurrent ratings of behavior from teachers and children's performance on…

Yilmaz, Kursad; Tasdan, Murat; Oguz, Ebru – Educational Studies, 2009
The purpose of the study was to determine and assess the beliefs of primary school supervisors on supervision. Data for the survey model were gathered using the "Supervision beliefs scale". In the present study, 300 primary school supervisors were contacted, using a random sampling method. According to the results obtained, it was seen…

Milich, Richard; And Others – Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology, 1980
The investigation involving six elementary school teachers and 120 students provides preliminary data in differentiating practice and regression effects on the Conners Abbreviated Parent-Teacher Questionnaire or Hyperkinesis Index. (SB)

Holborow, P. L.; And Others – Journal of Learning Disabilities, 1984
Three rating scales--the Conners Parent-Teacher Questionnaire, the Queensland Teacher Questionnaire, and the Pittsburg Adjustment Scale--were used to assess the prevalence of hyperactivity among 1908 elementary children. Rates varied from 5 percent to 8.9 percent, with the overlap going 3.5 percent and the sum of those identified 12 percent. (CL)
Descriptors: Behavior Rating Scales, Disability Identification, Elementary Education, Hyperactivity

Fein, Deborah – Developmental Psychology, 1976
This study examined the responses of kindergarten, first, third, and fourth grade girls to examples of good and bad behaviors followed either by good or bad outcomes. The results indicated that good behavior did not affect judgments of outcome but that a good outcome raised judgments of bad behavior. (JMB)
Descriptors: Behavior, Behavior Rating Scales, Elementary Education, Moral Development

Reynolds, William M.; Bernstein, Sydna M. – Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology, 1982
The factorial validity and internal consistency reliability of the Devereux Elementary School Behavior Rating Scale were examined with a random sample of elementary school children. Given the problem of multicollinearity that was shown to exist among subscales, the authors suggest caution in the interpretation of Devereux subscales as discrete…

Simpson, Robert G.; Arnett, Karen – Diagnostique, 1987
The behavior of 95 children (grades three through six) was rated by two groups of teachers using the Revised Behavior Problem Checklist. Multivariate analysis of variance revealed no significant differences between the mean ratings of the two groups. Normative data for males and females are presented. (Author/DB)

Milich, Richard; And Others – 1983
The study examined the 2-year stability and validity of playroom observations of behaviors associated with hyperactivity in 48 boys who were evaluated originally as outpatients in a child psychiatry clinic, and seen again approximately 2 years later at follow-up. At both evaluations, the boys participated in two 15-minute playroom procedures: a…

Scanlon, Elizabeth M.; Ollendick, Thomas H. – Child and Family Behavior Therapy, 1985
The internal consistency and validity of three new scales for measuring assertiveness in children were tested. Two of the scales were able to "unbind" aggressive from assertive behavior, while the third was able to "unbind" submissive from assertive behavior. At present, a combination of the three scales is recommended. (KH)

Glow, R. A.; And Others – Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology, 1982
The stability of children's behavior disorders was studied, using Adelaide versions of the Conners teacher and parent rating scales, with 256 five to twelve year olds. Of the 20 scales, 14 had high or moderate test-retest stability over the one-year interval. Most scales also showed discrimination validity over this time. (Author/CL)
Descriptors: Behavior Rating Scales, Elementary Education, Emotional Disturbances, Test Validity
A copy and description of the School Adjustment Scale are provided. The scale was constructed to be used by teachers to rate the behavior of elementary school children as to (1) Social Traits, (2) Motives, and (3) Personal Adjustment. This is a 25-item, multiple-choice rating scale. (DB)

Buitelaar, Jan K.; And Others – Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, 1990
Fourteen autistic children (ages 5-13) were administered Org 2766 (a synthetic analog of the adrenocorticotrophic hormone 4-9) or a placebo for 4 weeks. Worrell, Frank C.; Vandiver, Beverly J.; Watkins, Marley W. – Psychology in the Schools, 2001
Examines the factor structure of the Learning Behavior Scale (LBS) in a sample of 257 elementary school students.
