This matrix and these word lists are intended for use as a practical working tool in the area of competency-based curriculum. In the curriculum terminology matrix, inclusions are primarily concepts critical to curriculum development. The matrix indicates whether terms are found in word lists for Pennsylvania, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, Wisconsin, Open Entries, and V-TECS (Vocational Technical Education Consortium of States). In the word lists for the various states, open entries, and V-TECS, words are defined, and unusual expressions are organized with more common counterparts. The states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, which use the V-TECS terminology, are not represented in the word lists. (YLB)
