Reynolds, V.; Guest, A. – Biology and Human Affairs, 1975
Two studies of 6-7 year old children (one 12 subjects, one 36 subjects) were conducted to describe and relate the function of behaviors. Estes, William K. – Psychological Review, 1994
This essay introduces a series of studies developing a statistical theory of elementary learning processes. Barnett, David W.; Zucker, Karl B. – Psychology in the Schools, 1975
Explores the predictability of friendly, cooperative behavior of school children over a 5-week period. The basis for the predictions was the children's others-concept, as measured by the Paired Hands Test. Meyer, Kim A. – Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, 1999
A functional analysis involving antecedent events was conducted with four students identified as having behavior problems. Off-task behavior was measured while task difficulty and level of adult attention was manipulated during analog sessions. Results revealed higher rates of off-task behavior during difficult tasks and improved behavior when…

Collins, W. Andrew; Zimmerman, Stephen A. – 1974
Research assessing the impact of consistently negative motivations versus mixed negative and positive motivations for a televised character's aggressive behavior and the consequences on children's subsequent behavior is provided. Myers, Jeanette S.; St. Lawrence, Theodora J. – 1983
Videotape recordings and transcriptions of sequences of drama sessions in 10 elementary classrooms were analyzed to explore the utility of an anthropological perspective in assessing the nature of children's participation in improvisational drama project activities. Approximately 270 children and their teachers received seven and one half hours of…

Gresham, Frank M.; And Others – 1994
Surprisingly little systematic research has been conducted using school records as a source in determining students' at-risk status for achievement and behavioral difficulties.
