This volume is a collection of articles, practical information, program anecdotes, book and film reviews, and research abstracts on helping handicapped persons help themselves that appeared in 15 issues of "Challenge," September 1970 to May 1973. The volume has been divided into eight sections. Each article has been placed according to its major emphasis and concern. Section 1 is entitled "Philosophy and Editorials." Section 2 has the general heading "Activities" and is divided into the following subsections: "Arts, Crafts, and Games"; "Athletics and Sports"; "Core Correlated"; "Motor and Perceptual-Motor Development"; "Physical Education/Fitness"; "Swimming"; and "Wheelchair." Section 3, "Programs," has these subsections: "Adults,""Camping,""Moderately and Severely Retarded,""Ongoing,""Recreation," and "Scouting." Section 4 is entitled "Leadership."
