Elion, Victor H.; Megargee, Edwin I. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1975
The validity of the MMPI Psychopathic Deviate (Pd) and Pd+.4K scales to discriminate levels of social deviance among young black male prisoners was investigated in three studies. It was concluded that Pd and Pd+.4K both validly differentiate levels of social deviance but that the norms for the scales appear to show racial bias. (Author)

Hilliard, Asa G., III – Negro Educational Review, 1977
Notes that there is no pedagogical or psychological research or evaluation to date to justify the use of norm-referenced standardized tests as precision tools. At best, they are experimental instruments, yet they are used as if they are already proven to be valid. (Author/AM)

Ward, Connie M.; Walsh, W. Bruce – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1981
The Vocational Preference Inventory (VPI) and the Self-Directed Search (SDS) were administered to 102 Black women workers in occupational environments consistent with Holland's six vocational environments. Houston, Walter M.; Novick, Melvin R. – Journal of Educational Measurement, 1987
Bayesian Johnson-Neyman methodology was used to investigate differential prediction by race in U.S. Air Force training programs. Meaningful differences were found in eight of nine comparisons. The setting of the cutting scores had an effect on whether the bias was positive or negative for Blacks. (Author/GDC)

Green, Donald Ross – 1971
This paper is concerned with the accusations made by such groups as the Association of Black Psychologists in their call for a moratorium on testing, that standardized tests are biased. A biased test measures one trait in one group of people but a different trait in a second group. Evidence about the amount of bias in tests is thin. Bias must be…

Toenjes, Laurence A. – 1989
Longitudinal dropout rates (LDR's) for public school students and LDR's of pupil membership by ethnic group based on two Texas Education Agency reports are estimated.
