Stinebrickner, Todd R.
Journal of Human Resources, v37 n1 p192-216 Win 2002
A study of 422 female teachers showed that approximately 67% of those who leave teaching leave the work force altogether. A newborn child is the most important determinants of labor force exit. Comparing teacher and nonteacher attrition rates for persons with similar educational attainment, nonteachers are more likely to change jobs/occupations. (Contains 37 references.) (SK)
