Myszkowski, Nils; Storme, Martin; Çelik, Pinar – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2023
Career adaptability is better described as interconnected resources than as manifestations of a common factor. Using a sample of 1053 responses to the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale, we compared traditional confirmatory factor analysis models (unidimensional, bifactor, hierarchical) with a confirmatory network model, which is found to outperform the…

Lauren N. Currie; Robinder P. Bedi; Anita M. Hubley – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2024
This study evaluated the psychometric properties of the Hope-Action Inventory (HAI) scores with a problematic substance use population (N = 783). The hierarchical seven-factor structure of the HAI fit the data well. Further, the HAI scores had satisfactory internal consistency reliability and good convergent evidence for validity.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of an Arabic version of the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) using a Jordanian sample. Rottinghaus, Patrick J.; Zytowski, Donald G. – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2006
The authors examined the chief work values, assessed by Super's Work Values Inventory--Revised (D. G. Zytowski, 2004b), across interest groups organized by the 6 Holland theme scales of the Kuder Career Search (D. G. Zytowski, 2004a). Results strengthen vocational theory through clarification of gender differences and conceptual commonalities…

Assessed reliability and validity of Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale (CDMSES). Hansen, Jo-Ida C.; Bubany, Shawn T. – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2008
Vocational psychology has generated a number of concepts and assessment instruments considered to reflect ability self-concept (i.e., one's view of one's own abilities) relevant to career development. These concepts and measures often are categorized as either self efficacy beliefs or self-estimated (i.e., self-rated, self-evaluated) abilities.…

Yates, Loyd V. – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 1990
Investigated the construct validity of the Values Scale through a comparison of scores of 384 participants across 4 career-stage age groups and 5 occupational groups. Healy, Charles C.; And Others – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 1990
Community college students' (n=662) scores on My Vocational Situation related modestly to some concurrent signs of career progress but did not predict grades or enrollment decisions, thereby calling into question the instrument's usefulness for prescription or evaluation, unless it is revised. (Author)
