Incorporating Health and Behavioral Consequences of Child Abuse in Prevention Programs Targeting Female Adolescents.
Buzi, Ruth S.; Weinman, Maxine L.; Smith, Peggy B.
Patient Education and Counseling, v33 n3 p209-16 Mar 1998
Examined the health and behavioral consequences of child abuse, comparing parenting and never-pregnant teens. Both groups identified major consequences of suicide, prostitution, school drop-out, crime, and substance abuse. Parenting teens expressed interest in prevention programs that would address these consequences. Recommendations for child abuse prevention are discussed. (Author/EMK)
