The influence of the oral input of five deaf mothers on the language development of their two-year-old children was investigated. Piaget's theoretical position assumes that the ability to solve complete multiplication will be an earlier development in the child than partial multiplicative classification and his experimental findings support this hypothesis. Parental speech in English and Spanish was analyzed for presence and distribution of these features.
