Kangas, Brian D.; Vaidya, Manish – Behavior Analyst, 2007
The present report analyzes trends in attendance and presentations at the annual conference of the Association for Behavior Analysis (ABA). Numbers of registered attendees were plotted over time. The trends show that the number of registered attendees has grown considerably over the last three decades, with the largest proportion of the growth…

Arnold, Barry C. – Psychometrika, 1975
Frender and Doubilet suggest that Bousfield's ratio of repetitions (RR) is the best measure of clustering in free recall presently available. Conditioning only on the number of words recalled, they determine the mean of RR in the absence of clustering. In this note the null variance of RR is presented. (Author)

Baezconde-Garbanati, Lourdes; Padilla, Amado M. – Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences, 1988
Identifies 24 thematic categories among research articles appearing in the first 10 volumes of the journal. Notes that predominant themes were test reliability and validity, acculturation and adaptation of Hispanics, and bilingual/language issues. Indicates three major clusters of researchers publishing on Hispanic issues. (SV)

Huberty, Carl J – 1982
The issues in the interpretation of discriminant analyses presented are restricted to the typical uses of discriminant analysis by behavioral science researchers. Because behavioral researchers use computer programs packages, the issues discussed deal with information obtainable from the package discriminant analysis programs. The following issues…

Kalish, Michael L.; Lewandowsky, Stephan; Davies, Melissa – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition, 2005
Knowledge restructuring occurs when people shift to a new strategy or representation during learning. Although knowledge restructuring can frequently be experimentally encouraged, there are instances in which people resist restructuring and continue to use an expedient but imperfect initial strategy. The authors report 3 category learning…

Ciborowski, Tom; Price-Williams, D. – 1975
Thirty-eight bidialectical rural Hawaiian children participated in a study to determine if they would display clustering in a cued recall task and to explore the possible influence of dialect usage on recall performance. For purposes of the study, "clustering" was defined as the ability of subjects to recall list items by category…

Sirotnik, Kenneth A. – 1979
This report contains accounts of studies, about scales to be used in the "A Study of Schooling" research project, undertaken to derive indices for constructs presumed to be measureable by composites of items. The report is introduced by a discussion on the rationale for selecting the research methodology used and an explanation of the…

Talbott, Albert D. – 1971
The development of Q methodology is briefly reviewed, and the methodology itself is briefly described. Finally, a number of the issues are raised relating to the use of Q. Q methodology can have fruitful applications if it is not used indescriminately. Appropriate use of Q requires careful attention to the way the problems being researched are…

Owens, William A. – 1970
A conceptual model of individual assessment through the use of biodata responses with minimal input information is outlined. The process is considered especially applicable to industrial psychology. A scored autobiographical data form, which measures the individual's past behavior and experiences, provides for assignment to a specific subgroup…

Pinto, Patrick R.; Pinder, Craig C. – 1972
Two hundred twenty-seven organizational units drawn from a variety of industries were cluster-analyzed on the basis of their similarities across 18 behavioral and structural dimensions of effectiveness. Using a multivariate subgrouping procedure, eight homogeneous clusters of units were found, varying in size from 8-65 units, and each…
