Subotnik, Leo – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1972
If the spontaneous remission phenomenon is genuine rather than an artifact, remission should show a relationship to the length of time elapsed. Thirty analyses of variance, treating judges and diagnostic categories independently, produced no evidence for a relationship between lapse of time and improvement. (Author)

Weintraub, Marcy; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1974
The data demonstrate the existence of a unified, negative cognitive content that is associated with depressed mood among normal subjects. Since cognition emerged as a more stable characteristic than affect, one might conjecture that the cognitive component is activated in--and perhaps triggers--the development of depressed mood. Natale, Michael – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1977
Verified the relationship between affective states and visual behavior in nonpsychotics. Elated individuals engaged in more total eye contact and had longer but less frequent eye-contact gazes than normals and depressed subjects had less total eye contact and had fewer eye-contact gazes than individuals in a neutral affective state. Clark, Ruth Anne – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1976
This study examines the Rotter Internal-External locus of control Scale to determine if it differentiates people according to the degree of control they feel they have over behavior. The results support Rotter's claim that reinforcement value has to be taken into consideration in Locus of Control studies. (EJT)

Katz, Harvey A.; And Others – 1967
The study makes use of Rotter's (1966) hypothesis that there are consistent individual differences between people who believe in the internal control of reinforcement and those who believe in the external control of reinforcement. Students who are "internals" will believe that their behavior controls academic successes and failures and may,…

Katzman, Melanie A.; Wolchik, Sharlene A. – 1983
Recent studies have indicated that bulimia, characterized by binge eating followed by depressed mood and purging, is increasing. To investigate the behavioral and emotional antecedents and consequences of binge eating in women, 22 female college students (14 diagnosed bulimics, 8 binge eaters) completed self-monitoring forms for four binges.…

Klemer, Richard H. – Journal of Marriage and the Family, 1971
From the 1956 data, it was found that high self esteem young women did more dating and tended to go steady less often while in college. From the present comparisons, it is found that the young women who had dated more often tended to be married earlier. (Author)
