Lustrino, Michele – Journal of Education and Learning, 2021
Every substance is associated to emission of electromagnetic radiation whose peaks are essentially influenced by temperature. Hot bodies (i.e., at T >700 °C) emit electromagnetic radiation in the field of visible light (incandescent light). The radiation emitted by cold bodies (i.e., at normal ambient conditions) in the visible light range is…

Fuster, Gonzalo; Rojas, Roberto; Slüsarenko, Viktor – Physics Teacher, 2016
We have observed a nice example of chromatic dispersion due to refraction in water, in the form of color fringes bordering the black stripes that exist at the bottom of a swimming pool. Here we give a qualitative description of the phenomenon, explaining the role of the black stripes and the dispersive index of refraction of water.

Vella, Yosanne – Teaching History, 2011
The small-scale research that Yosanne Vella reports in this article was driven by concern to help pupils develop "big picture" visions of the past and to engage effectively with the idea of change as a process rather than an event. The strategy that she adopts--asking groups of students to colour in a timeline recording their judgement…

Forrest, Erik – Art Education, 1986
This article addresses the difficulties associated with identifying and communicating about colors. Specific attention is devoted to the color red as it is symbolized in British and American cultures. Embry, Dennis D.; And Others – 1978
This paper reviews relevant experimental literature on certain components of printed instructional materials which are commonly used in early childhood education for normal, at-risk, and handicapped children. The components examined include the use of color, instances of concepts, language style, number of answer options, the use of pictures and…

Golden, Anthony R.; And Others – Journal of Educational Technology Systems, 1988
Discussion of the use of nonexamples as an effective strategy in teaching concepts focuses on a study of college students that explored the use of common errors to teach the procedure for color correction of color transparencies. Treatments for the experimental and control groups are described, and further research needs are indicated. (Author/LRW)

Wardle, Francis – 1996
This paper describes the current debate over developmentally appropriate teaching practice. The paper presents the perspective of multicultural educators, who argue that developmentally appropriate practice is biased toward white, middle-class values, and the perspective of special educators, who argue that modification of developmentally…
