This article consists of five brief program outlines distributed and discussed by participants at the Southeastern Regional Conference on International Education in November 1976. The five community colleges represented are Kirkwood, Iowa; Gulf Coast, Florida; Seminole, Florida; Shelby State, Tennessee; and Rockland, New York. (RM)

This study sought to: determine foreign language enrollments compared to total humanities and total college enrollments in two-year institutions; examine foreign language course offerings in 1975 and 1977; and determine if institutional size is related to the range of foreign languages offered. Surveys were conducted in 1975 and 1977 of humanities courses offered at two-year colleges in the United States. Studies are currently being conducted of colleges where the humanities have been strong and colleges where they have diminished. Recommendations are made for strengthening foreign language programs.
