Gommans, Rob; Cillessen, Antonius H. N. – International Journal of Behavioral Development, 2015
Children's peer relationships are frequently assessed with peer nominations. An important methodological issue is whether to collect unlimited or limited nominations. Some researchers have argued that the psychometric differences between both methods are negligible, while others have claimed that one is superior over the other. The current study…

van Dulmen, Manfred H. M.; Egeland, Byron – International Journal of Behavioral Development, 2011
We compared the predictive validity of five aggregation methods for multiple informant data on child and adolescent behavior problems. In addition, we compared the predictive validity of these aggregation methods with single informant scores. Data were derived from the Minnesota Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (N = 175). Maternal and…

He, Jie; Qiu, Peihua; Park, Ka Young; Xu, Qinmei; Potegal, Michael – International Journal of Behavioral Development, 2013
A hierarchical cluster analysis of the time course of the videotaped reactions of 75 Chinese 2-4-year olds to mothers' toy-removal identified Distress, Low Anger, and High Anger behavior clusters. Anger often begins at low intensity; some children then escalate. The face-validity of Low and High Anger-cluster classifications was supported in that…

Moss, Ellen; Bureau, Jean-Francois; Cyr, Chantal; Dubois-Comtois, Karine – International Journal of Behavioral Development, 2006
The objective of this study is to examine preschool-age correlates of the maternal version of the Attachment Q-Set (AQS) (Waters & Deane, 1985) in order to provide validity data. Concurrent associations between the Attachment Q-Set and measures of separation-reunion attachment classifications (Cassidy & Marvin, 1992), quality of mother-child…

Spada, Hans – International Journal of Behavioral Development, 1978
Reviews two models of thinking and intellectual development: Scandura's deterministic model of structuralistic learning, and a generalization of Rasch's probabilistic latent trait model. Models are compared by means of two experiments with balance scale tasks. (RH)

Morra, Sergio – International Journal of Behavioral Development, 1984
On the basis of a study involving 40 first-grade students, compares Pascual-Leone's and Keating and Bobbitt's developmental theories of information processing by contrasting their predictions about a classification task. Results falsified Keating and Bobbitt's model. Predictions from Pascual-Leone's theory were almost wholly confirmed. (RH)
